Right up there with a great superhero movie is a great freaking monster movie. First, The Host, then JJ Abrams and Cloverfield, now Guillermo del Toro is putting out a monsters vs. mech suit smash-em-up next year. I can't freaking wait! In the great tradition of the Japanese monster movie, 25 story beasts will arise and Earth will be defended by pairs of soldiers piloting giant robots called Jaegars (anyone think of J Jaguar in Godzilla vs Megalon?). First pic of film below, with pics of the monsters being released at Comic Con this weekend.

On a more serious note I was really disappointed because I was way off base on what I thought this was about. Still I am not disappointed.
