And they find it constitutional, is the right finally going to shut up about health care reform?

After all, they have no other ideas or clues on how to lower the cost of health care (I mean other than to make sure we give all our money to insurance companies).

I will be gloating and rubbing it into faces on Thursday sometime after 10 EST.

He sounds confident ...

Barack Obama suggested that any decision by the US Supreme Court to overturn his landmark healthcare law would send the country “backwards” and that Americans did not want to “re-fight” the battle over healthcare.

It was the first sign that beyond the White House’s staunch defence of the Affordable Care Act Mr Obama is prepared to use the law as a rallying cry on the campaign trail. It is a risky strategy: about half the country remains opposed to the legislation, although most voters like the consumer protections that are guaranteed under the law.

The pubs are hyping any decision - since they have so much vested in it, they have to look like they won even when they lost.

The dems are down playing any decision.

Sounds prepared to whine like a schoolboy failing at lessons yet again, you mean. ;-) The majority want the law repealed anyway, so he's not going to gain any sort of material advantage with independents and most white voters by crying about the SCOTUS yet again. The guy throws these little temper tantrums all the time now. It's off-putting and not presidential but he doesn't care, sadly.

We should take bets on which department he calls up and tells to stonewall the Supreme Court if it gets shot down and how long it takes from the time the decision is made public.

Unlike you, just as on the night Barack Obama won the presidency I'll accept whatever happens and congratulate the 'winning' side. The same won't be said, like I've just observed, for you and most of the rest of the Left, most of whom will also throw a hissy fit and begin trying to deligitimize -- they're doing some of that already, in fact -- the decision made by the Court. My suspicion is that if the law is upheld in toto, most of us who want to see it tossed will just work that much harder to ensure a President Romney and a 'Pub House and Senate ensues in January of 2013, given that'll be the next legal avenue to take in seeing Obamacare put to death. But we won't be rioting in the street or taking dumps on cop cars and the like, such as you see from much of what constitutes the moonbat Left these days.

I want to see you man up and accept the decision as an adult, come Thursday morning, if the mandate and other parts -- or the whole thing -- of the law is tossed. I promise you that I'll do the same if the law is upheld.

I am sure he will be just as "grown up" as he was when the Walker DONKEY BEAT-DOWN took place...

I'm counting on it. ;-) Hell, I gave Barack Obama his first 100 days free from any criticism from me here in the LR, if you remember. I doubt a single one of these lefties here have that sort of discipline and self-control. If the law's upheld the law's upheld. But that's only one 'no,' and there's a chance in November to lay the groundwork for its ultimate neutering or even outright repeal, come 2013. I won't be whining like a little baby on Thursday if the law survives SCOTUS review. But there'll be plenty of whining on the part of several here if it doesn't survive such review.

I remain convinced that the survival of ObamaCare is the best thing that could happen for Romney and the GOP come Nov.

If the law is upheld then were is credibility of the right - since they have been claiming it's unconstitutional?

Don't try to change the subject. Will you man up, STFU, and accept the SCOTUS decision or not, if the mandate or the entire law is tossed?

It's better all around if that thing is killed off on Thursday. Obama's gonna take an ass whupping in November because of his screwing up of the economy, regardless of what happens with this abortion of a health care "reform" law. Better it die now before the Dems -- knowing that a wipeout is coming yet again -- try to get up to more mischief between now and then in trying to further cement into place provisions of that law. They've already spent nearly $3 billion on implementing it since the case was heard by SCOTUS in March. Imagine what they'll do in order to try to make sure it hangs around after the big electoral defeat they're going to take in November.

I don't know that is the best option BK. The hard left was never totally on board with this offering, preferring something more akin to a Canadian style single pay system. While they would probably not vote for Mitt, they may right now just abstain from voting period. A full overturn by SCOTUS may be just the thing to harden up their resolve and bring out the core left that is, right now, a bit soft.

Obama's "base" (hard left, AAs and "Hispanics") ain't enough to win it for him, even if they come out and vote at historic levels, which they won't regardless of what happens with Obamacare. He needs the very folks, plus the independents (who he seems to have to have lost), that find Obamacare distasteful in order to win out. There's no win for Obama as regards Obamacare no matter what happens, so better to stick a stake in that vampire's chest now before it rises again in some other form. What's killing Obama -- and what's going to do him in come November -- is the economy, especially if we fall into a double-dip recession, the chances of which are rising with each passing week.

The Left can yammer all it wants for single-payer but even most Dems -- outside of the kooks like Pelosi, Jan Schakowski and most of the Congressional Black Caucus -- are put off by the idea of something like Britain's NHS being tried out here. That's still a bridge to far for much of the population.

I hear what you are saying, but I am not totally convinced. I think if SCOTUS were to strike the total law it would create a major sub issue that would detract from the economic issues. If they just strike the mandate then it will probably fade into the background, especially given the timing and the Long run to Nov 6.

BTW, as a transplanted Canuck, I was not suggesting that a single payer solution was the right solution Having grown up across the water from you, I fully realize it would never fly in the US. However, Living in that hard core Dem bed that is Charlottesville,I was just pointing out that the hard left were looking more for a single payer system. You are right - no one would accept the restructuring required to make it fly.

If they think it's a bad act, there's no reason why they should shut up, even if the Supremes rule against them.

I'd like to see Mr. YaHey and the rest of the Left, just once, not go into paroxysms of rage boy anger when something doesn't go their way. That'd be worth fitty cents or so to see. ;-)

Not going to happen. The whole house is going to collapse. The right will view this as a win. We all know it's not. Mitt will not have the backbone to fix the mess so things will get worse while
people pat themselves on the back over this "victory".

And you'll be whining when it goes the other way. Whether it be election results or court decisions, the inability to accept the results and move forward is driving a great deal of the political animosity on both sides of the aisle.

I dont have a strong feeling one way or another on this.....i agree with points on both sides of the aisle. B/C the Repubs refused to work with Obama we got this bloated POS "reform". B/C the Dem politicians were more concerned about keeping their jobs and making their contributors happy they passd this POS, making almost nobody happy.

FWIW i agree with both Matt and JSA's positions on what US healthcare could and should look like. However b/c the Right is controlled by a fucked up combo of free marketers, Bachman/palin screeching death panelists, and anti authoritarian Objectivists (and the Left a bunch of spineless whimpering idealists who are craven to unions/insurance companies & scared to death of Fox/RW media), no real reforms will be immediately forthcoming. Which is a shame b/c if you've spent anytime in Australia or any of the modern European countries you can see how good semi-socialized healthcare can be for 95+% of the populace, with the other 5% either hopeless or able to afford whatever they want.
