Newsflash: You have to add a seatpost.

"What? Seatpost? OK, I'll slap one on there. How's that?"

"Fan-friggin-tabulous".

Ed: That's the most hideous bike ever. I'm sure someplace the Belgians and Spanish are paying C'dale not to start that bike. And the behind the seat bottle holder looks like a cartoon bubble. Just not cool.

I think what could have been as I shake my head. If people thought the P4 didn't sell because it "looked slightly odd" this might sell negative units.

That ugly shape is a result of the same sort of UCI rule optimization that shapes the p5 and plasma.

just...with an ugly seatpost....lol

This should be banned. It is so ugly that I can't look at it. Bikes has to be good looking, period. Who cares about drag numbers. :)

Is it an optical illusion or is there about 4 inches of space from the back of the seat post to the back of the seat tube?

awful color combo to boot... Not so much the frame but the wheels and bars just don't work for me.

it sounds like the only complaint people have is the seatpost. I agree that the post looks off, but the rest of the bike isn't that bad.

So am I the only one who thinks it looks great?

I really like it. The seatpost does look a bit silly, but I'm certainly interested in the bike.

I like how the frame looks, don't like the SP, but I suspect the seat post is a very good idea. For parts that are restricted to UCI 3:1 shapes the smaller the airfoil the better (at least for low yaws). Seat posts don't have to be very big to support a riders weight, so making one that matches the profile of the seatube is typically not necessary, even if its aethetically pleasing

Yeah, I imagine that a very good argument will be presented in the marketing that shows that given the turbulent air in between your legs, less is more. However, like with cars, there is still a lust factor with bikes, and the P5, SC, DA, E-118, Triad SL LE, etc all just look better.

Some john cobb tests back in the day indicated the exact opposite.

That's why he said presented in the marketing. Marketing doesn't care about facts silly Jackmott.

could still be a fact, depending on how the rest of the frame is shaped etc etc

it may even not matter much and they went with the weird seat post to set themselves apart.

I like it a lot...and I think you could come up with a method to carry spares and such a la Speed Concept on the seatpost and ledge behind. The more I see it the more I like it :)

Pretty sick looking. However the seat post does look like an afterthought.

I think it would look cool if they would just make the seatpost out of clear lexan.
