Your welcome to come on out and give it a go. Smoking fast? It looks easy on paper it's a really easy course. Lots of flat fast farm roads and lots of sun. But nothing tricky!

You guys are fooking STUDS! I had low expectations and exceeded them, but it's hard to envision competing at your level.
A Vegas slot rolled to 8th in 35-39, so I took it. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Except herpes.... that shit will come back with you.

Congrats on the Vegas slot! Nicely done. It's a fun race but a tough course. Get healthy because that run course can be a killer and I know you've been running "hurt"...

Mike...Congrats on a great race. I just put 2 and 2 together and you and I have previously met...however briefly. If you remember the Kinetic Half, just as you were finishing your second lap of the run...you passed me on the path through the woods...I said something like, "Be careful...lots of pine needles on the path up ahead" and you said something like..."Yeah, I know, this is my second lap." I then followed you for a while until your faster pace checked me on the long climb at the start of the lap. Anyway, I went on to have a great race for me...16 minute PR for HIM. Eagleman was going great for me through the first few miles of the run, but a slightly off stomach the whole race kept my constantly behind on nutrition and hydration and I had to slow to ensure the finish. Still, I had my 2nd best HIM time and I learned a bunch about sticking with it through the end.

Would anyone care to explain how Kona and LV slots are handed out here?
Do the Kona spots get handed out/rolled down first, and then LV for whomever is leftover? Or do they just start with #1 in each AG and say, "which would you prefer?"

They started with #1 and offered Kona, then Vegas. I was surprised that an athlete could take both, though only because I was ignorant that they could.

I know number two took one he was wearing a shirt that said so at the hotel the next day. I am sure his doting family had it made for him :0) Sorry he was number 3 in AG. How many were allotted 2?

I took a Kona slot, 1st W65-69 5:54:51
(averaged 20 mph on the bike looking at cadence...someday I'm going to have to get one of those power meters you all talk about :))

I'm glad I just aged up to M45-49. I got a Kona slot on a roll down. and yes the bike was smoking fast, my wave was toward the back so I was almost always passing people and getting that passing draft, also the roads are very smooth and not much wind for a change. But M40-44 and M35-39 were crazy fast.
