Race date is Saturday, July 7.

Look for a few things handled differently than with the 2011 event (under a different "group"), including improved and faster run course, lots of support along the way, and nice post race spread. I'm still loading stuff to the event site but registration is now open. www.gulllaketriathlon.com

Individual and 2 or 3 person relays allowed for the Tri. Individuals only for the DU and Aquabike divisions.

With the new registration system, no additional fees to register, no parking fees.

Don't forget Double Time on June 2 which is only a short distance away at Klines Resort on Portage Lake in Three Rivers.

I'd love to come back this year, but I'll be out of town (I'll be deployed to Afghanistan), but I'll remember the date and do a Du that day (assuming 5k - 40k - 5k format) since I won't have a pool available, but I will aim for the 2013 race when I get back.

next year should have 350 maybe 400 slots open now we know for sure what we can handle with parking.

if anyone asks you about a spot on measured sprint course that lets you fly - you know which one.

25 total triathletes and duathletes broke an hour on this course 500Y-10M- 5K
