Does anyone know the latest water temps at Barclay Bay?

It is going to be cold. I swam at Veteran's Park yesterday and someone took the temperature at 49 degrees. I was told Lucky Peak is at 52 degrees as of yesterday.

Y'all might as well have a wah-mbulance on standby for me. I am not liking these numbers. :( boohoo! Had a bad experience in 54 degrees at IMSG last year. Maybe 1.2 miles will be better?

P.S. Tom Z...you were right.. should have gone to Kansas!!
love, Dorothy :)

I swam at Lucky Peak Lake on Monday the 30th. The park ranger there reported the water temp as 48-49 degrees. It was not fun and I never got warm enough to really swim.

Cold water makes you swim faster. Guaranteed.

Holy crap! I'm glad I found this thread, the athlete guide they emailed out the other day said to expect low 60's water temp - a far cry from 48-49! Forget my full wetsuit...gonna pull out the scuba dry suit. The coldest I've swam in is upper 50's for an olympic distance. If it's upper 40's should I be considering a neoprene cap/booties??

I just swam a huge PR this morning in 51 degree water, I can attest to this.

Yes. You'll thank yourself a lot in the water.

Anyone have a link for current water temp for Lucky Peak? I've googled and haven't found anything. I'm preparing to freeze!

I heard it was 51 degrees yesterday... and rain is in the forecast every day this week.

Sounds like fun! :)

I swan up there this weekend. The water is in the very low 50s. If we have a warm week of weather, as forecasted, then the water temp may approach 60.

I swam up there this weekend as well. This time with booties and a neoprene swim cap. Not sure if it was the extra equipment, the sunny weather, or if the water temperature actually got that much warmer, but it was MUCH more comfortable. Swam an easy mile or so and enjoyed the sun. Tons of boats though so that was kind of a bummer.

Looking forward to the race next weekend!

Will this be a game changer for Specialized, in both sales and product design, or will it not move the sales and design needle versus those in Specialized's competitive set?
