New Cannondale Super Slice

Nibali with a new TT rig during the final Giro TT.

Pretty radical looking, integrated font end, hidden brakes, seatstays very close to rear wheel, very radical top tube tail and low aero ratio seatpost

Pics when the stage is finished

Grabbed a slightly better side shot. Slick looking, integrated for head tube, that rear tail section looks huge.

Yeah, but I hate the way the seatpost looks. I've never been a fan of a small round seatpost sticking up out of a large base like that, just don't look right for some reason.

I wondered if that was the new Super Slice. It sure wasn't a standard Slice!

Is this a prototype, or a production model?

I wonder if that's a UCI compliant seatpost but a non-UCI (tri bike version) would be a production seatpost that's more aero/long...

UCI compliant would be a much different form factor. That's probably 1:1 whereas the UCI rule is 3:1. I suspect that seatpost is in fact round, and it's round because the bike is still a prototype. Manufacturing a round hole and clamp is substantially easier than an aero shaped one, so bodging that together would be easier if you just need to get the bike out the door so the Giro guys can ride it.

That's my guess anyway.

edit:

It doesn't look bodged in this (which I saw after writing this). So perhaps I'm wrong.

Yeah that screen shot sure looks like something they worked on---and unless they plan on shortening the "tail" that either it would have to be a HUGE seatpost or there's going to be the aerotail/rudder;)

Looks like an Ordu, Trek Speedconcept, and Felt DA had a baby with a tumor on its back end

Looks sort like the front end of a DA, mated with the rear end of a Plasma 2 or 3, with the stays of a Transition/Shiv...with a dinky seatpost plopped on top...

I'm somewhat surprised that seat-tube/seatpost treatment passed UCI "muster"...

Integrated front end with the new TRP behind the fork brakes and most likely used behind the bottom bracket as well. The seat post is not round and looks like the old Corima post a bit. I would venture a guess that it is pretty thin.

Looks like a good combination of a Trek Speed Concept (brakes integrated), Specialized Shiv (rear section - seatpost/seatstays), Scott Plasma 3 (head tube and seatpost), with a pinch of Cannodale Slice.

I like it. It'll be interesting to see where this bike ends up. Nice start I think.

Seatpost would have to be 25mm thick at the minimum to be UCI legal.

Possibly the seatpost will have a tri specific draft box ala speed concept? Seems like enough room for something there that may still enable use of rear hydration.

I'm really liking this bike. I'm not crazy about the liquigas paint, but I really like the plasma, and love my slice, and there is a lot of potential with this bike for sure.

Great pic. Thanks for posting it. That bike is really pretty awesome. Slice enough but incorporating some new ideas. Looks fast, and super cool. Chrissie will be supa fast now!

It'll be interesting to see how the front brake is actuated and the cable routed...I'm not seeing the honkin' cable out to the side that has been typical for those TRP-style brakes...
