custom logo tri tops?
My company is going to sponsor me for my next IM and they're willing to buy a tri top for me with their logo on it. Do you have any recommendations on custom logo tri-top companies?
Or should I get the tri top that I want and find a separate, local company to custom print the logo?

We'd be delighted to help! We have quite a group of very satisfied customers, including Ironman champions and olympic teams. The gear speaks for itself, as we turn around garments usually within 2 days.

There are a couple of places on the net that would do custom sublimation on a garment that you provide for a reasonable fee. These are not advertized, and have to be approached as a one-off job for them. I have had an estimate of about $30 for a trisuit. The issue is making sure that your technical wear does not get ruined in the process; as sublimation seems to be the only way that will retain the characteristics of the original garment. The other issue that I have is that for the companies listed, they use garments which are not what I want/like to use (I have been wearing DeSoto stuff for years, and like it the most). If you have success, let some of the rest of us know. Again, I was going to do this, but pulled the plug, as my potential sponsor decided to go in a different direction.

champion systems does a great job. They have low minimums in general, but there are also options for even a single fully-sublimated custom kit. Cool chance to do something unique.

How do you like the finished product vs off the shelf? I ask because my LBS has some kits made by chmp-sys and the quality seems mixed. All my races are for charity and I want to expand some aspects of my kit to give to large donors.

I'm not sure regarding finished product vs. off the shelf.

I've ordered Champion Systems 3 years in a row after working with many many other apparel makers and I can't see switching again.

The only quality concern I can think of is that the pad on the tri shorts is thin. I personally like that, but I know some like a little more cushion.

The biggest perks to me are the design options and available apparel. Because they have low minimums, unlimited colors at no extra charge, and can brand anything, you can put together an extremely professional look at a dirt cheap price.

Once you have a design, you can add a cycling kit, socks, gloves, arm warmers, jackets, etc. with low or no minimums (the minimums only apply to accessories.)

The ability to create such an extensive look is huge for highlighting sponsors.

They've really been a perfect fit for us.

V-gear's quality for the custom is as good as off the shelf. I've been riding with the same (2) jerseys since last Fall -- both on mtn and road rides -- and still enjoy wearing my custom ones. Even wearing a Camelbak hasn't caused excess wear on the shoulders. The elastic at the waist and sleeves is still as secure as day 1.

Be sure that you work with a designer on this project or your kit is going to come out goofy. Handing someone a logo and saying "have at it" wont likely do the trick. There is a world of difference between a good looking kit done by a desiger and something that wasn't. Whomever you use, if you are going to go through the trouble, it is worth a few bucks to work directly with a designer (e.g. one you can call on the phone...talk with..and who will work with you on revisions).

Although I am unfamiliar with some of the other names mentioned in this thread, www.bettydesigns.com was mentioned at the top of this thread. I am familiar with her work and there is a reason so many top pros, teams, and companies use her. Take a look at her portfolio. I am sure you have seen her stuff in the magazines!

Hope that helps.
