A day in the life of...

brought to you in the spirit of Dr. Seuss.

...

Up with the dawn

And hop out of bed!

There’s marmalade coffee,

And news to be read!

A runner goes by

At a fantabulous pace!

What’s going on?

A gymongous road race!

We jog to the finish

To cheer for our friends,

What’s that, not a beer?!?

Maybe one! Maybe ten!

Back to the house

For some green eggs and ham!

You’ve heard that one before?

I know, what a sham.

Then many hours I stare

Alone at the screen.

Toiling on schoolwork

And for clients unseen!

But for breaks we will visit

A favorite Site!

The House of the Slowmen!

They’ll show us what’s right!

The sun’s setting down,

But the night’s just begun.

We’ll start with some Stout,

How ‘bout you, you want one?

So thank you for reading,

We hope you did like.

Now log off the e-net,

And get on your bike!

Great Marty, and your wife should be in the hottie thread.

Picture of you in front of the computer with your helmet on backwards, sunglasses and rubbing your hands in anticipation while looking at Slowtwitch is a classic. (I wore mne backwards at my first sprint and did not realize it until I saw the pictures and something looked odd.)

P.S. You look 10 years younger than when you came out of the water at GF this year.

Thanks Marty. A good day by any standards - but did you train?

Wow, excellent. Damn. You have raised the bar pretty high. This is actually very, very good. I like it. You also have the distinction of being the first one up.

Excellent.

You know it's creative, talented people like yourself who make me feel like a real dumb ass when I post.

Take your wit and talent and laughter else where.

Well, at least you're in touch with your feelings, so you've got that going for you, I guess ;-)

Well done Marty!!

If you were my coach, could I drink beer twice a day and eat tater tots just like you do?

Glad you all enjoyed it, I think Tom came up with a neat idea.

Caleb - the finish line was 3 miles away from our place - it went right by our front door. We jogged there and back and threw some light strength training in at the nearby Y to keep things honest.

Mr T - you're one of the most creative people I've encountered, I rip off your style on occasion!

MJZM - if you're in the off-season, just finished a half-marathon, or enjoy things in moderation, then bottoms up!

J-son - we try to enjoy ourselves, thanks!

It was an interesting Saturday, a M-F would have been something like wake up, eat, work, lunchtime run, work work, PM swim, work work eat sleep etc....;-)
