You are not alone. Faris rocks the full man-kini all the time. You're taking it a step further and going topless. I applaud you. You've got balls. Seriously, we can see them through the man-kini.

I've been considering doing this. I haven't yet found a suitably ridiculous Speedo yet, though. Maybe leopard print?

The arm warmers add a nice touch.

I'm a girl (duh) so no speedo for me - but I've done all my tris in a one piece swimsuit. My favorite racing suit says ROCK STAR on the front of it. LOVE wearing that suit.

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine
If you're injured and need some sympathy, PM me and I'm very happy to write back.

The first tri I ever did was the Pumpkinman triathlon in Las Vegas back in 2005. I remember this one older guy at the race who was ridiculously tan- basically "leather bag" tan- and had incredibly skinny (think supermodel thin) limbs and this beer gut. He raced the entire thing in a RAINBOW PRINT speedo, and nothing else. It was amazing.

Splish has a lot of options for what you're looking for:

Go for the Hypnotic Pink. I dare you.

i don't consider myself fast enough for that yet.

When I know I can go sub 5 in a HIM, or around 2:00 for an Oly, then I will rock the speedo and it will be as obnoxious as humanly possible.

I aspire to rock the Mankini one day, but nobody needs to see that in my present form.

So how much does the chest waxing hurt? ;-)

I second the recommendation of splish.com. That is where I had my speedo custom-made. There have been several ST threads on this subject. Do a search & you'll see you're not alone.

The hand on the hip pose really goes well with your mankini ;)

I think its all in the attitude / or at least being old enough where you no longer care what people think. The last race I did the only speedo-clad competitors I noticed where in the 50+ age group. By most accounts their 'present form' did not warrant such a wardrobe decision, but they seemed comfortable w/it. Whatever floats your boat...

I third the recommendation to check out splish.com. I designed a custom suit for a good friend of mine and he's been getting compliments in the beer tent after his races of late.

I've considered designing speedos/women's suits for our tri team (Texas A&M), but am not sure of the interest. Perhaps, you'll see what I come up with in Lubbock next April at Nationals.

Personally don't care to rock the traditional speedo cut, but:

As soon as I've got the abs, I'm doing it.

The first wildflower I ever did, I was about 5 seconds behind a guy running in a lime green speedo, and hearing most of the spectators boo him as he ran by definitely made the run a lot funnier.

Maybe it's me or maybe it's just the shadows in the picture, but it looks like the dude on the left is enjoying his PBR just a bit too much.

The only response I can give to this thread is a cliche, "Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should." Or that anyone else is enjoying the show as much as you are. :)

I do it to give other people motivation

1. Who wants to be that guy who gets passed by the dude in the Speedo?
2. Some people like the view after they get passed by the dude in the Speedo.
3. Everyone needs a good laugh during a long ass race...I provide the laughs.
4. Some people want to be the dude in the Speedo...they live vicariously through me.
5. The fans love it...
