Has anyone tried pairing a Shimano 53 with a 34 with a mechanical 9000 set up? Did you have any shifting issues ?

IIRC one doesn't want to exceed a 16 tooth difference between the 2 chain rings in order to have decent shifting.

YMMV,

My buddy is a top mechanic at a LBS here in LA, rides that exact setup and says it works just fine for him. I think he runs di2 with that setup, but either way it's 9070 or 9000.

We are going to try 53/36 aero Q-Rings on my bike soon. Hoping that combo works well, since for some reason no one seems to make a 37T inner ring.

You know how minimal the difference is between a 36, 37 and 38 tooth chainring :)
