I didn't win it but we paid out $1000, $750, $500, $250, $100, $100 $100 at the LouisianaTinman Tri in Shreveport 1986 when I was RD. That was probably one of the better Mom and Pop pay outs at the time. I forgot what woman won, but Scott Molina won the mens.

one year I won $750 at the Meridian (MS) Triathlon, now called the Sunfish, then turned around the next day and won another $250 at Mountain Lakes Triathlon in Alabama. This was back in the early 90's. There used to be a lot of races in the deep south that had a couple of hundred dollars for the win. I can't remember exactly how much, but I think I got about $500 for each of the first two Dannon Duathlons I won in New Orleans. The second Dannon race I had to pass Peter Reid in the final 5km run to win it. That was also the early 90's before Peter became a stud.
