Different, part number for SC 9 Series 2011 is Trek Part #303978 Dropout 158

2014 SC is Dropout 164 part number Trek Part #311263, the bolt diameter is different between the two hangers as I found out when I needed to replace a bent one a few years ago. Hopefully the part numbers are correct otherwise Carl on the SC owners thread thread will be able to steer you in the right direction.

There was actually a minor hanger change between 2011 and 2012 model years. I don't know if that means the 2014 yielded a third hanger or if it simply used the 2012 updated version.

Grim and SummitAK both got parts of it right...

The first PN Grim gave is the original hanger for the 1st generation SC...the second PN he gave is the modified hanger (for same platform, just later model years) that SummitAK referenced.

The 2014 SC hanger is different from both of the above (and not backwards compatible) and comes in several colors, each with their own PN.

Carl: Is the part number for the rear derailleur hanger for the 2011 SC 7 the same as for the 2011 SC 9? I'm looking to buy an extra one as a back up for travels coming up in 2016. Thanks.

it depends on which version of the 2011 hanger you have...here's the cheat sheet:

• If you had 295979 you need W303978 and if you want or need new bolts those are W304100.
• If you already had 303978 all you need is the direct replacement W303978...no need for new bolts unless they were damaged.
• If you had 311263, replacement is W311263 and again no need for new bolts unless damaged, in which case the replacement bolt PN is W318604
