Suffered my first flat in three years of competing today at Columbia. Got back on the road alright,but ...anyone used those self sealing tubulars? Worth a try or just garbage?

THE SELF SEALING TIRES WORK SOMETIMES BUT THEY ARE HEAVY. YOUR BETTER OFF JUST REPAIRING THE FLAT YOURSELF.

I use them... they are a few grams heavier, which makes next to no difference. I figure saving me one flat in 10 is more than worth the time losses from having a slightly heavier tire. Things might be a bit different if I had a support car riding behind me to change wheels, since I generally don't the only other option is to try and minimise the number of flats.
