Reading DCrainmakers post last week talking about the price of power meters falling even more over the next year - it has me wondering if there will also be a drop in power trainer pricing as well? I get there are more metal parts and whatnot in trainers than what is required for the new cheap power meters, but.. Two or three years ago 1100 for a power controlled trainer sounded cheap as it cost essentially that much to get a power measurement on your bike. However, with all the new sub 800 dollar power meters 1100 is starting to sound expensive.

I think the real question will be, how much longer you can profitably produce a power trainer when everyone can get get an on bike power meter and a nice trainer separately for less.

Although I have never tried it. That would seem like a nice feature.
Yeah - that does seem like a good thing, but how much more money is it worth?
