Ha. I remember doing a few close passes on the right on the Richter descent in 2012 but none as close as they tractor one. Yikes!

Wow! That was a sketchy pass of the tractor, for sure.

55mph... That's moving right along. I'm guessing there will be some huge speed disparities at that point in the race with less-comfortable descenders riding the brakes.

For sure I'll be one taking slow, tested out descent yesterday and felt very uneasy on top section with the hard turns, used brakes whole way, my Trek SC with Flo front had serious wheel wobble which I have never felt before. I'll be honest I am former roadie Cat 3 and I done climbs and descent in Co and Cali and the I had hard time getting to sleep with anxiety over the bike course.

I rode the descent 3 days ago and took it pretty conservatively. The technical part took me only 3:10 and after that it's smooth sailing. How much time can you lose in 3 minutes? No reason to take big risks there.

Pussy.

The number of guys I passed on the descent today says otherwise :) However they had all passed me first on the climb despite me throwing my power plan out the window and pushing too hard.

88mph! And that tractor pass. Those are some handling skills...

Those numbers are much more sane then! I was kind of worried for his safety at ~140km/h. Still a gnarly descent, and it's nice seeing him push 700w coming out of a few corners.

The speed display was in KPH not MPH, therefore the highest speed shown (I saw 88) was 88kph or about 55mph, or if you want to get really technical, 24.4 meters/s^2. I've done close to the same speeds descending some hills around here but on not nearly as technical of courses.

Hopefully Eric is able to keep up the ITU videos without them messing with him much. They're generally more interesting than the 'official' coverage.
