You're all going out waaaaay too hard. In regards to pacing TT's, there's probably no one better than Matt Clinton.

That was my experience. I'd start at the top end of vo2 max level for :10-:15 and then settle in. A 10-mile TT provides plenty of time to make up a couple seconds, especially if you have more left for last couple minutes than less.

Actually, funny example how one should not start. I was almost late to the start line and forgot to take off warm (and bulky!) jacket, so after initial 10 sec speed-up I'd had to sit upright, take the jacket off and throw it into bushes on the roadside, still cranking much more power than it would be in normal situation :)
