Yes--but you will have the problem of users coming in with a wide range of drive trains, which will mean swapping cassettes around on the Kickr. Factor in various degrees of chain wear on client bikes, and you'll have an interesting situation.
Carson can chime in with his thoughts, but we've never had a problem with this.
95% of the time we run in ERG mode. Sometimes we do mixed mode. We've had 8 speed mtb to 11speed.
Sure, with eleven speed sometimes it takes 2 clicks to switch gears, but you can always find something that works pretty quickly. Additionally, a quick turn of your adjuster and things get dialed in pretty well.
With ERG mode, you can ALWAYS find a gear that runs smooth regardless of drivetrain.
