Exactly.

You either care about clean sport or you don't.

I have a poem for you:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Prime example of "I don't give a damn about anything until it affects me" attitude.

I don't think sports and people ending up in gas chambers are quite on the same scale. It seems a touch disrespectful to compare the two.

For those scoring at home, Godwin's Law was evolked on the ninth post. Not bad.

To continue the theme I will be a grammar nazi and inform you that the word evolk doesn't exist and you must have meant invoke.

It is a polarizing bit of verse, I will agree. However, it's been used many times in many settings to show the dangers of not speaking out against something until it affects you personally.

I misspelled "evoked", it doesn't have an "L".

Yes, god forbid we ever mention anything to do with the Holocaust or the writings thereof. We might (gasp) offend someone.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

And those who did not pay attention in historyclass are doomed to use it totally out of context...

Just trying to figure this out.

I'm Canadian. So most of Americans by default think I'm a socialist because I believe in universal health care

I'm a banker though, and as such clearly a capitalist! But given I am in retail not investment banking I'd say a liberal capitalist.
I am raised Salvation Army from valley of Wales and as such my mom would say Jew, German, Jehovah Witness, Muslim and even; yes, English, we are equal and all one.

So I really hAve no idea what you're trying to say. Given the context from where I come from. I do know this....life is grey. Know as much as you can to make informed decisions. And do our best to share wisdom. Never hate. And don't be late! You'll do all right from there!

It's just sport mate! Just don't start mine doped!!
