Hello all,

I'm currently a senior medical student who will be doing a few away rotations in the coming months. In September I'll be in Jackson, Mississippi, and in October I'll be in SLC, Utah. I was hoping that you all would be able to point me to a local triathlon club with regular runs/rides that I might be able to meet up with on my days off, as it appears most of my rotations will have quite a bit of down time.

When you get to Jackson you need to go to Stinky Feet, its a store down Lakeland Drive in Flowood. Ask for Daryle and he can hook you up with the guys you can train with. They are great folks at that store also.

As for the original question my only experiences were running a 50K farther southeast in Laurel and staying along the gulfshore in Gulport/Biloxi.

As for SLC avoid Uinta beer which both my wife and I consider mehhhhh.

We have multi purpose 81 mile trail in Hattiesburg (a little over an hour south of Jackson). We have organized group rides almost daily.

Also - have some Southern Prohibition beer (brewed locally in Hattiesburg - you can tour the small craft brewery on Friday afternoons).

Here in Jackson theres plenty of opportunities. The reference above to the MS Heat is no good. They are a DEAD club. Team Insane Need for Speed is the larger group of tri folk in Jackson.

Peewee was right you can find out all you need from Daryl Lethola at Stinky Feet.
Enjoy UMC I spend about 50% of my day there.
