Saucony Kinvara.

I think they are cushioned. But maybe you want a Hoka Clifton?

Nike Pegasus! Amazing shoe that can handle high speeds and has plenty of cushion. I get 500+ miles out of a pair too.

The shoe I have been happiest with is the Saucony Triumph ISO. For a long time I searched for a magical shoe as far as comfort goes, and this has given me best results.

Love my Kinvaras. I know several people say they aren't durable for a trainer but my last pair of 5s got a few hundred miles before feeling flat. Still useable though and the upper is still like new. Just finished the MCM in a pair of 6s. Probably my favorite tempo/racing shoe.

For the OP, also look into the Brooks Pure line. If they fit your feet well, they are a really good shoe.

Interesting take. I've been running in Hoka Conquest and tried the Altra Torin 2.0 which is thicker and the Conquest felt more cushioned to me. The Torin felt firmer and the Conquest is suppose to be one of the firmest Hoka's. I guess it depends on where one's coming from and what they can handle.

OP, there's max cushioning (30mm+), high cushioning (25mm +), moderate cushioning and so forth. Need to know how much cushioning you want to go after and how heavy of a shoe.

Used to run in Brooks Pure Drift and other minimalist shoes, so compared to that the Altras feel very "cloudy" to me. Still love them though. Would never be caught dead in Hokas! LOL

I've been a Nike convert the past year or so, i'm a big fan of the following:

Nike Pegasus – definitely a trainer, but it is a very good weight and is responsive.
Nike Zoom Fly (2) – it's marked as a ltw support shoe, but the medial posting is slight and these babies are fantastic for all types of runs and are a "steal" these days at $90

I'll second the Pegasus. Haven't worn the 32 yet, but 28-31 have been great.

I have loved the asics gel nimbus (especially models 15 and 16, getting ready to break out the 17s).

I own 2 pair of the brooks glycerin, but I notice a lack of arch support for me. They also dont feel super supportive, they are my lawn shoes and regular "out and about" shoe.

Good luck.

While I haven't run in the Nimbus I have had them on at a shoe store. I remember them to be much like the quality of the Kayano but neutral instead of support.

They were very nice shoes.

I was a Nike Pegasus guy for years, but the cushioning always seemed to wear out long before the tread did, so I've been on the search for something that holds up better for longer runs. Currently rotating between Asics Gel Nimbus and Saucony Ride. The Asics have good cushion but rub my arch a bit, and are a good bit heavier than the Sauconys (they're also really hot, although that's less of a concern now that summer is over). I'm really happy with the Sauconys though...already looking for a good deal on a replacement pair.

Zoot Solana rock! I used to run in Mizuno Wave Rider (a bit too "hard") and Kinvaras (a bit too "flat"). I find the Solana's the perfect meld of both those shoes with a nice cushioned ride for long runs.

Used to be a Pegasus fan but I now run in On's. They are very durable and have some good cushioned options.

With these days of maximal cushioning .... how cushioned? The new NB Vazee Pace are supposed to be a great shoe.

x2 - I have a fairly wide forefoot. 6mm drop, neutral cushion, light enough to race in, stout enough to train in. Holds up well.

The Asics Cumulus 14 & 15 have both held their cushioning well...and they come in a 4E!
