*this is a good ride for you Bay area folks*
So the crew got together at 9:30 this morning for a little spin it was 80 outside. we started at our fire station on the ridgeline and headed south on 35 [Skyline Blvd] a 3000 ft twisty canyon descent got things started as we dropped down into the San Lorenzo valley 15 miles away via Bear Creek rd to Boulder Creek. then we headed uphill on Hwy 9 and as we climbed so did the themometer. By the time we crested the ridge again at mile 35 it was 100 degrees out. we could see the Big Sur mts 70 miles away across the Monterey Bay when we were near the top of Hwy 9 just below Skyline Blvd the 70 oz camelbacks were dry, we were salt encrusted grinning ear to ear and had a blast.
total ride time was 2hr 20 min 3000 ft of descent & 3000 ft of climbing.
