I know one of you roadies or experience people can help me. I have a pair of Zipp 404. When I pump up the rear I loose the pressure reading within 2-5 sec. The tire seems to hold the pressure overall but I can't tell where the psi are. As I pump the needle will hit say... 100 psi for a second and then immediately drop down. Could it be the "gasket" around the pump nozzle? Anyone have this?

Are you using valve extenders? If needle on you pump starts going down immediately but you're not losing pressure on the tire, then your extensions may be the cause. some teflon tape around the threads then re-installing extensions works great.
could also be pump head, try pump on a different wheel.

Jim nailed it. I had the same thing happen last week. Once I tightened the valve extenders, the pressure guage worked like a champ.
