Local shop made me the offer of 2015 ZIPP 60's wheel set with Specialized S-works Turbo tires for $1200 all in. Sound about right?

Sounds right. But you could get a used set of 404 firecrest for that price. Newer technology. The 60's are the old narrow width zip 404 shape.

That's part of what I was thinking and I did mention. I am going to sit on it a week and see if I can get the shop down to $900. They really seem to want to move them as they have been sitting on a rack for two years. I also got a glance at the shops cost for the product. I don't ever want to see a shop take a loss...but sometimes it's good business.

You can get a set of FLO30's which will be around 200 grams lighter and just as aero for $550. Or you can get a set of HED Jet6 wheels which will be more aero and fit a wider tire better for $1100 off of competitve cyclist.

If the LBS really wants to dump these wheels, I'd offer them $450 tires and tubes included. There's a reason nobody bought them at $1200, but I'm sure there will be an uninformed sucker that adores the Zipp name that would be willing to pay $900.

Just don't be that guy...unless you want to.

This is why I love this forum. Turning us uninformed suckers into informed smarties on the reg.
