Nice list. I remember and have lived it all.

Sock Racers - best racing flat that Nike ever made. They only lasted for about 4 - 5 races - It was best if you were sponsored :) - but if these things fit your feet, it was like racing barefoot, but with the perfect amount of padding.

"3. Gookinaid"
- - Used to love that stuff. Tasted some few years ago because a century that I did was serving it. I was surprised that it's still out there. Yech, it didn't taste the same...

I just bought a pair of Adidas SL72s. I hope they aren't as disappointing!

don't have a pic of the seat shifter but it's something that connected to your seat and allowed you to ride ether very steep or very shallow with a flip of a knob that connected to your handlebars. I never used one and frankly didn't see a whole lot of use but some very fast people did use them. I believe Mike Pigg did.

That weird cable thing might have been about 1990. I bought one from HED about that time I think. It seemed to work but it could have been dangerous if your crashed. I used it in one "biathlon".

Amen, Nick!

It's getting way to complicated.
