Your Favorite Tri-Short
Anyone out there riding Garneau's Tri-Short?

http://www.louisgarneau.com/...EN_PRO_SHORTS#second

I'm in the market. FWIW, I'm riding DeSoto 4 Pocket and like everything about them. Except the cross seam converges on either side of the chamois in a way that creates a saddle friction point. Something about my sit, my sadddle (Adamo) and those seam points creates a real hot spot.

Curious about opinions on LG, or other high end shorts.

I have both and love the desoto's. The LG's just aren't as comfortable for me. I only use them now for trainer rides 60' or less.

I used a pair of LG Pro trishorts for a season before tearing them up in a crash. I replaced them with DeSoto kit as I'd heard a lot about it on the forum; I think I like the Forza line better than LG, but I never had complaints about my LG shorts (except that the white leg gripper band shows chain grease very obviously, which is only a problem if you're a klutz like I am).

This summer I was really happy with the Pearl Izumi P.R.O In-R-Cool short. The chamois was pretty thin but worked great for me on a Adamo Road

check them out here: http://shop.pearlizumi.com/...=&color_code=021

Older model desoto shorts, no pockets. Everything from sprints to Ironman. Hell, I even run marathons in them! No problem, absolutely love them!

Maybe the newer models have a different stitching pattern?

I have 2 different LG Tri Shorts, including those ones. I love them. I love the leg gripper as it is a wide compression piece and not silicon or rubber and therefore doesn't grab my leg hair.

i have become a huge fan of the desoto forza tri-suit.
something about the whole fit of having the to attached to the bottom just moves all the wrong stuff to all the right places, or vice/versa, depending on how you look at it.
but imagine the comfort of the 4 pocket short, but just with more lift and security and less drift over long rides.
imagine being happy for 4 or 5 hours being blissfully unaware that you posses gonads or genitalia. probably the only time this is good.

I wish I could say I love my tri shorts, which are DeSoto's Forza. unfortunately I always get my taint rubbed off every race I do.. I almost wish transition times in oly races weren't a big deal or else I would just change into my running shorts for the run.

I'm a big fan of the 2XU tri suit. Perfect fit for me and good quality construction.

So, I am not the only one. There just has to be an answer!

I'm thinking about it. The pad may be the answer. I see the DR pad is smaller than the 400 mile pad, which is too much for me. Just like Goldilocks - I need to find the right one for me.

Good feedback, thanks. Out of curiosity, are the shorts sized similarly?

Hello
The new Compressport is just awesome: compressive, thin pad which is just perfect with an ISM and for running, non slippering on the saddle as it s got some dots ...
Can t take anything else since i tried it.

Agree. Bought a couple off of Amazon and used them for training and during races. Did lots of 6 hours rides and an IM with no discomfort at all. They also come in a "long" which is perfect for me. I tried a 2XU short as well but found the material to get loose after a couple of washes.

Pearlizumi P.R.O. Best chamois, best material, best though out design. They blow everything else away.

I have two of these, with different padding. The float pad is rather thick for a tri short IMO but the "invisipad" works great for me. Nice to have the choice.

I've had a pair of the shorts you linked to.

I thought the quality was good and the fabric was really breathable but I didn't like them as much as the DeSoto 4 pocket shorts. My GF wears them now.

Personally my favorite ones now are the Oomph Vigor shorts
