I went out this morning for an 11 miler. And in a nutshell I guess I blew up.
I was hurting by mile 3 but I figured I'd slow my pace and continued. Was sipping Gatorade and sucked down a gel at 40 minutes in. After a while i could feel the flem in my throat and stopped drinking the gatorade. From the Gatorade I guess.
At 7 miles I was close to my truck and stopped to get water. It was a quick stop (30 seconds) and when I tried to start running my legs did not want to go. I stopped for about 15 more seconds and started to run.
My last loop was ugly. My pace was at a crawl and I was really hurting. When I finally made it back to my truck I was in bad shape.
Dizzy, felt like throwing up. Could not drink. My stomach was feeling weird. All around messed up.
I was worried about driving do to the dizziness issue. Finally made it home. Had to sit in a cold bath and it took me hours to feel decent.
Even now i have spasms in my Calves, hams, quads and other muscles.
Dehydrated? Lack of carbs? Over trained?
