Very excited to head back to Wildflower. I've got unfinished business there, so glad it's back. I've done it twice. First time was great. Second time, in its last year, was my only DNF. Very glad to have a shot at redemption.

Their website is up. Who's racing it?

This is super exciting to me! I always wanted to go back to Wildflower, and was kind of crushed this year when they cancelled it. Definitely going!

I'm definitely in! So looking forward to going back!

If registering between now and 9/19, you can also get a small discount of off the race fee. See the link https://endurancecui.active.com/..._p=04070812176752425

Any idea what this registration option is, since official registration doesn't seem to open till 9/19?

Its a super double secret side door access :-)

No, it is a link they sent out if you had signed up to get the word out .... and yes, they said to share the link too.

Huh, don't seem to have received it.

In the past, you could reserve camping while registering, but I suppose that will come later.

From the Wildflower website. # seems a teensy high. Order of magnitude maybe.

There was nothing regarding camping in the note. My guess is that will come later. Happy they at least got the registration up so people planning for next year can consider WF.

edit to add: from the email I received this is the comment that comes as close to something on camping .... "The Wildflower Experience is about bringing people together and surrounding them with so much to do they can’t wait to get to the next “Experience,” but don’t worry there will still be plenty of time for that sense of community you enjoy so much around the campfire at night. Watch our Facebook and website for exciting new details – or just sign up to race the triathlon and you will be in the know by receiving the awesome newsletter with the latest info."

Ha anyone tried to register? They'e forcing a 1 day USAT license fee of $15 even tho my USAT is good thru 6/18.

Duh - never mind, you actually have to add one "annual member" even if your number is in...

This is my dream race: pack the bike, the gear, and a tent, in the back of a C172 then Renton > Redding > Paso Robbles municipal, and ride the bike from there to the race.

I did, had no problem. You also have to click an extra button for "free, o already have a membership" down the page.

They had those damned active fees when I checked out, if I didn't want to do this race so bad I would have abandoned ship when I saw the fees. I HATE active.com....even more than USAT!

Yeah, eventually found that.

I just rationalized that the active fee was still less than full price no fee, but yeah..... fees.

Will be interesting to see what the camping fees are. Last time I did it I did the Oly (that year it was super hot for the half and super windy and cold for the Oly the next day) and stayed in a PR hotel. Camping fees had gone up and up (for what you got), don't remember how much but it was relatively a lot for two nights of finding a 6 x 6 spot to put a tent down

Where did you stay in a hotel? I'm new to the area and not even sure where exactly would be close.

Hampton inn in Paso (south, I think it was).

If it's your first wildflower though, i'd camp.... It's part of it. I'll probably camp this year. Paso is also about a 30-40 minute drive, and you still have to walk down and back up The Hill (you'll see what I mean...:) )

Do people camp on the south or north side of the lake?

Most people camp south shore. There is north shore camping but you have to take a boat shuttle to get to race site

ETA - and it's not like camping like "you get spot 20." It's camping like you drive in, find a spot your tent can fit, regardless of whether it's an actual site, and plop it down
