Why can't I get a boner?
I probably could have worded that "better"

I am a very active late 20's male who has trouble maintaining an erection. While it's embarrassing for me, I am also seeking any advice, hoping that another male is out there! I train a lot, nothing crazy though. Wondering if my levels may be low, etc., I don't really know. Kind of at a loss.

Does your dick go numb while you are riding your bike?

What saddle are you using?

Jumping in because I'm 30 with basically the same problem. I go back and forth between an ISM PN and a Seller SMP saddle. Those are the two saddles where I go "least numb". Things have gotten a bit better this year as I've done shorter and more intense rides and scrapped "recovery" rides altogether.

Disclaimer: I often promise photos fully intending to provide them and then get distracted. Sorry in advance :)

Have you tried doing things shortly after your ride to ensure that blood flow returns quickly if you catch my drift.

If it happened even once I'd be concerned.

Speak to a doctor, change your riding position for a few months (tri/aero to roadie?) and possibly check out your hormone levels - could be low testosterone. And/or ask your Gf if she's willing to be more 'experimental' to get a reaction.

I think the proper medical term is "scaredy-wang"

Don't drown. Don't crash. Don't walk.

Obviously it could be related to your saddle or position, but there are a number of other causes, unrelated to your bike. You need to see a urologist. No one on slowtwitch is going to inspect your unit for you......well, most of them wont. See a urologist.

Don't drown. Don't crash. Don't walk.

if not your bike seat crushing your prostate, likely you arent eating enough natural fat with proper rations of omega6 vs omega vs omega 9. fat is used to make cholesterol, which in turn is used to make testosterone that fuels your sex drive. like wise fat people who have similar problems , eat too much sugar or damaged fat (fried), which makes a shitty fat that cannot produce proper hormones

How many hr/wk are you training??? It could be simply that you need to cut back like GreenPlease did, and mostly do shorter, more intense workouts, and cut out all the recovery stuff. Everyone is diff but I find that more than 10-11 hr/wk tends to impact my abilities in the "fourth event". At 9 hr/wk and under, I'm hell on wheels. :)

Quit asking for guessing on an internet forum. Something is very wrong if you're unable to "get a boner" at your age. See a doctor pronto.

Sex is about 90% mental. If it's situational, check whether you're actually attracted to the person you're pointing it at. Quitting porn helps some people.

And change your saddle and see a doctor.

If you watch lots of porn it could be that you've become too conditioned to it. I have also found it hard when faced with an overgrown forest down there...

Agreed, 10-11hrs porn/wk is probably too much. And cutout the recovery porn altogether.

Well what else is going to keep you on the turbo trainer for those sorts of hours then, smarty pants?

^^^I think this response covers most of the bases!

There's a good chance it's not physical at all or that it's a combination of physical and mental, and you may be fine again in a few weeks/months with no intervention but it's not worth the risk of just trying to wait and see. The saddle is a prime suspect if it's something physical but there's plenty other possibilities so best to see someone and try to rule get a handle on it. If you ever suffer numbness I wouldn't delay in changing to a split nose saddle for a tri-bike and either a split nose or heavily cut-out saddle for a road bike. I had slight numbness during a fair proportion of my rides a few years ago, then one day after a long ride the numbness remained after I finished and took several days to fully disappear. I wasn't waiting to see if that, or worse, happened again. I started saddle shopping. I tried a few saddle options and ended up with a Specialized Romin Evo Expert on the road bike and an ISM Adamo Attack on the tri-bike. The Adamo is entirely numbness proof for me and I have only very minor numbness on maybe 5% of rides with the Specialized. No problems in that area despite currently doing much higher mileage on the bike than I ever have before.

Don't panic, but don't ignore it.
Start looking at saddles. Talk to a doctor.
Maybe reduce time on the bike until you figure out what's going on, just in case.

I wouldn't ride a tri bike without a noseless saddle. I can't believe we were doing that for all these years. I never had boner problems, but my crotch would often get numb during long rides.
