I got the same email. If you signed up for the friends and family list, you can pre-order the Ventum with a discount. I do like how you can choose the color of your water bottle. I want to see the aero data and testing protocol.

I can't tell you much about the Ventum but I can tell you about the Dimond. After riding for a little over a year, it still excites me to throw my leg over and go for a ride. Not only does it feel and look fast; it's comfortable also. I can't stress enough how great their customer service is also. There is never a day that you can't call or message someone and have great response. If they are attending the race you're racing, it's like having your own pit crew.

While the factory color is black; for a small premium you can it painted any color you would like.

The Dimond paint jobs are incredible. I love looking through their Facebook photos

The biggest problem with a bike like that is; if you are passing everyone on the course, it's the bike. If you are not, you suck!

It's on a short list for me but I'll only seriously consider it if they release a more comprehensive data set: at least two other superbikes, identical wheels, rider on, rider off, lots of runs, and error bars.

Well, you may have to take it off the list then :)

Too ugly for me to ride. I was less fussy in my youth.

I want to see the data! Why pre-order with no data!

you could substitute ventum for P5 or Dimond - if the bike is the case for you moving up through the field and I only, as a rule, like to move back, then clearly everyone will know its me and not the bike, and I'd much rather they road past and put it down to my poor choice of equipment rather than a lack of ability :)

I think we've reached a point with the Dimond and this thing that the frame is no longer the issue. It's a nice place to be. The real question is, when does Specialized, Trek, Cervelo, and others start making flying V or Lotus bikes that bring the price down due to mass production?

I'd prefer the Dimond in a Randy Rhodes (Ozzy guitarist) paint scheme.
