Where to have an East Coast slowtwitch Gathering

What do you guys vote for in terms of a neutral 70.3 on the East Coast. It will be the first annual East Coast slowtwitch Gathering. I figured the 70.3 would be the best distance to include the most people.

I love Muskoka. One and only time I won my AG in a 70.3. And I got to meet Dev for the first time.

Are there any crazy or different 70.3 races out there? Meaning something known for its crazy/difficult swim or bike or run?

If you guys want to do something fun, SavageMan 60 in Deep Creek. MD is super fun and has a really cool vibe. There are also bunch of short distance events you can do.

I would vote personally for something like Savage man or the Outer Banks 70.3 but if we can reach a consensus that a group of guys would want it do I'm in for whatever.

The Revel in Atlantic City

It's vacant, and you all are really only 1s & 0s, anyway

The Outer Banks race is roughly half-way between Portland, ME, and Miami, FL, as it is about 800 miles from each. It would seem logical to have this gathering at the most central location. :)

I concur. OBX! Maybe we can call a good local hotel to discuss discounts if we bring in so many people?

That's a good idea!!! Further, we could use their party facilities!!! We should be able to get at least 50 or more STers to come.

I know I have already said OBX multiple times, but IF people are on board and it is there I may do the Olympic because I like to use that as a personal benchmark time to beat. If it is another location that I can attend I wouldn't mind attempting my first 70.3 at said locale.

Alot of good ideas. How do we go about actually getting a count of who would be interested as well as determining the location.

So I'm starting to get some feedback back from Guys/Girls on preferable race.
Does anyone have interest in a two race gathering. I.E a Olympic in spring and a 70.3 in fall or vice versa.

Canada may be more neutral. We're not virtually at war with North Korea, have this free trade thing going with Europe and don't actually want to pull out of NAFTA. In any case, politics aside, I don't think you will get any "official east coast gathering". Rather, feel free to organize STers in your area at the race you guys are doing. We've done that at all kinds of races over the years. The only "official one" would more than likely be at the official ST Kona party.

I would vote for Tremblant, but hey, that's literally inside a foreign country inside a foreign country!!!!
