I have a vacation planned (July) at a Sparrow Lake resort and wondered if anyone would recommend bringing the mountain bike along? Any challenging/technical trails? And, are big cats/bears an issue? What about flies and mosquitoes (are they unbearable)?

I worked at a resort on Sparrow Lake back in the 90's...haven't been back in a decade, and the resort I worked at is now defunct, but back then I wasn't aware of any trail systems on the west side of the lake. Road bike might be a better option as there's lots of quiet roads nearby.
No issue about big cats or bears - there are bears in the area, but they keep to themselves and I personally only saw them at the dump rummaging through the refuse.
It's a beautiful lake - enjoy the trip!
