Hang on a hook at the side of a bookcase in my office. Award medals go on another hook on the same side of the bookcase. Both are out of view. I do have a few awards on my mantle in the living room though - not out of view...

I always find a little kid to give it to. They are always thrilled to get them.

My mom likes em!! I keep my bibs tho!!! Never done a short distance race so the ones I get are actually meaningful cause they represent the work I put in cause I prep for months then give 100%. If I did like a 10k or a sprint I'd throw it out if they give them out for those cause that isn't symbolic of an experience

Yep, absolutely worthless. Could be spent on better swag.

Given them all away to my kids, parents, other kids etc... The only medal I did not give away was USAT Nationals last year. My wife suggested I keep it and I agreed....

Hang mine from a nail in the garage. I think it will be fun to look through them later down the road. I usually give the hat or shirt to a kid at the race venue.

Same here. Keep them in on a hangar.

You know what they say, it's not the size of the medal that counts Wink

I save mine up and every so often there is a local camp or charity that needs awards for a kids' event.

All of em are in a shoebox in the closet. Except the 70.3 and 140.6 distance ones. Theyre on the wall.

Donate your medal.
If you would like to donate a marathon, half-marathon, or triathlon medal, please take a moment to fill out a Donation Form and tell us about yourself and where the medal is from to provide us and M4M recipients some background on you and your gift.

Right, because anyone who does a "short distance race" doesn't train or give 100%. I guess you think those kids on the track team are real lazy when they only race 100 yards.

I hang them on the thermostat in my living room. At the end of the year I put them in plastic bag and store them in a box. I guess some day I'll look at them. Crap or not I'll keep my IM ones, they mean something to me.

Marathon, 1/2 IM and IM hang in my training room as well. Just part of the tri stuff on the walls.

I've never quite understood the mindset that hates reminders of what they have done. I mean sure, don't wear it to work for a week, but why the desire to toss it?

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

For the meaningful ones, I ditch the ribbon, glue a strong magnet on the back and use them as refrigerator magnets. I think I got that idea from someone on here a few years ago.

I have a pool stick that is between two shelves, my medals are on one side, the wife's is on the other. Our son who is in the top 2% of the nation in swimming for 11-12 has a box of medals because there are so many, just laying on the floor in our room. The wife has put together some of his bigger race medals to display.

It wouldnt get you much.
Not sure about anywhere else but finisher medals here in GB are actually quite low in price (70p) - considerably less than what the tee shirts cost!
For many first timers the medal/tee shirt is a big deal.

Dont complain about the results you did n't get from the training you did n't do.
