'for a reduced entry fee of $100' is not the same as 'for an entry fee reduced by $100'. The former is the offer. The latter is what the OP understood.
Here:
Option 1
Register for one of the following 2014 events for a reduced entry fee of $100 (a limited number of entries will be made available on a first-come, first served basis):
Option 2
Register for 2015 IRONMAN Lake Tahoe (9/20/15) for a reduced entry fee of $100.
Option 3
Register for one of the following 2015 events at a 50% discount (available on a first-come, first-served basis, offer valid for new entries only, existing entries will not be partially refunded):

As much as I like to bitch about WTC, but they technically don't owe the registered people ANYTHING for a cancelled race because of environmental circumstances. So the deals they offer you are pretty good in my mind.

Indeed. Considering the fact that most of the costs for the WTC were sunk and spent already on IMLT, it's gracious and good of them to make this offer.
eg - They are not getting there money back on the port-a-pottie rentals!
