Visiting Boulder
I am coming to Boulder for a few days this week (tue - thur). Are there any pools where I can drop in and swim? I'd like to avoid the "and we have to do a full tour of the facility" sort of situation. Also, are there any common meetup times/locations for group runs?

Boulder has several rec centers which are all open to the public for a daily fee - around $6 or $7 I think? North Boulder rec is closest to downtown. Check online for their pool schedule.

I'm not sure about group runs but I would call Boulder Running Co or Fleet Feet and ask them.

Enjoy your trip!

Stay at the Millenium.
They have a 25 yard, 5 or 6 lane pool.

Everyone around here swims with BAM (http://www.bamswimteam.org/....cfm?pagetitle=Pools), you can drop in and pay a fee and start swimming. The individual pools themselves may not all be open because of the season, it looks like Scott Carpenter is open (https://www-static.bouldercolorado.gov/...C-1-201409151011.pdf) which is nice because it is a 50 meter pool. As far as a running group, I might check meetup.org or something, this is Boulder, people are running all the time!

There's a new swim program that is a bit more structured and focused on improvement and individual goals - http://www.facebook.com/swimcoachgeoff. Practices are only three days/week right now but you can drop in. Amazing coach with great results!

Whatever you do don't run on pavement. Too many good trails.
