We swam last night as we do every WED ... here are some items
--
http://www.dklatourette.blogspot.com ... I will have a series of posts here, first is already up
-- Water Temp ... 77deg last night @ 5pm ... it will drop over the next few days with cooler temps (always cooler in morning anyhow)
-- Water Flow ... much lower with the drought, this does not effect water level BUT it effects water temp (higher) as the water is in the river longer moving slower
-- Depth ... NORMAL ... swimming last night (as is always the case) you an swim the entire course if you want with no need to walk ... if the buoys are set as usual, the turn is very shallow but swimmable ... after the turn if you slide too far right you mostl like will have to dolphin / walk BUT that segment is only 30-50 meters long
-- Because the water is warmer there seems to be more algae bloom early in the year ... the water quality is fine and is monitored every day. If water quality is poor by law it is posted and and swimming is not advised ... THIS IS NOT THE CASE ... we have 4 weeks of swimming and it has been different temps and conditions weekly - BUT, overall water is definitely warmer
Hope this helps ...
