Well, I'm here now and what I've found is:
1) Swimming - where I am I just go out front and drop into the Ocean and swim back and forth. The swimming area is 75 - 100m long (depending upon the current). Do as many laps as you like.
2) Bike - I'd love to have my bike here but I don't as I'm only doing the swim portion of the 70.3. Roads are in good condition and for a lot of the road, there is a separate road for cyclists which is also used by everybody else, but at a slower speed.
3) Run - no problem, but go out early.

What I've found is that it is far hotter and more humid than I'm used to so I've been keeping my runs shorter (nothing longer than 5Km) although swimming isn't an issue.

Depends upon how long you are here and where this fits into your training plan. I'd say to bring your running gear and swimming gear for sure and get some early morning workouts in before the heat of the day.

we live about 20 km (on the mainland) from coz but still pop over to the island for a change of scenery. teh seas are always MUCH calmer than on our side and deeper waters - great swimming. the circuit around the island is always pleasing to the eye and very light on traffic. at home i have a soft trail through the jungle to run so the run on the island is all i can complain about but if you're used to running on concrete you'll have a great run. i am pretty sure that Go Cycle in Cancun rents high end bikes and also check with Cabrillas if you're not wanting to bring your bike down.

great! i forgot to answer on snorkeling - i just use my goggles and you can snorkel anywhere but our favorite is what we call the "monkey bar" but it is really called the Money Bar and maybe not even called that anymore. :) pretty protected versus all the boats in town but a ways out of town, down along the old road. you're going to need a taxi or car/bike/scooter to get there.
