USAT Northeast Regional Championship

Is anyone else a bit surprised the Northeast Regional Championships are at Challenge Quassy on June 6th. I love the race, but to make the area's championship on essentially the first race weekend of the year for most New England'ers seems a bit odd.

Lots of races before that. Ridgefield, Harriman come to mind as well as a bunch of duathlons.

OK...let me restate!!!

There are very few races prior to the Northeast Regional Championships. More than anything, it seems very, VERY early compared to the usual flow of the New England race season. For a long time it has been, that first weekend in June is the time when people would get their feet wet doing Quassy or Mooseman...with the focus of the season much later at IMLP, Timberman, etc.

Pretty sure for awhile the SouthEast regionals was in April at St Anthonys Tri, which was credited with the start of the triathlon season in the US. I could be wrong about that.

This year I think it's in May.
