Tubie Valve Extender ? Quote | Reply

I am a tubie newbie so this is a learning process for me. I have done a lot of searches and gotton some valuable info. I ordered my new tubes (Vittoria EVO CX 650c ) yesterday. My front tire is Zipp 404 so I knew I needed a longer removable red valve extender so I purchased a set. My question is will I need a shorter valve extender for my disc (Zipp 900). I believe the vittorias will come with a 42mm valve.

While I have your attention I have another question. I removed the old tubes that came on the wheels yesterday. The process wasn't bad at all. Actually thought it was a hell of a lot easier than removing my clinchers. I have reviewed the glueing threads and the Zipp video (all that seams fairly simple). For my spare tube (which I was planning using on using one of the tubes I just took off) do I need to apply a coat of glue to the tube berfore the race or just throw that sucker on there after removing the flatted tube?

I can't speak for a disc, per se. However, I ride H3s and teh cut out on those is similar to the disk. No extension needed for H3s so I have to assume you won't need one for a disc.

For the spare, since it has been on the wheel and is pre-glued, you can probably just throw that sucker on the wheel if you get a flat and it should have enough glue to get you home. Just be careful not to take any corners too fast. If most of the glue stayed on the rim or its really old, you may want to put a thin layer of glue on the spare. To test it, fold it up and apply a little pressure. If it sticks together when unfolding it, you;re probably OK.
