Tris in/outside of Chicago for Spring
I have been looking for some tris inside or outside of the Chicago area (maybe even in WI, IN or southern MI) for this spring/beginning of summer (June). Sprint or Olympic distance, does anyone have any that they recommend?

Elkhart Lake is always a good one, offers both Sprint and Olympic on a nice challenging course. It's on June 10, 2017...

Not sure how IMWI 70.3 being on the same weekend will effect it this year.

x2 on elkhart lake. One of those races that doesn't get the attention it deserves, though sometimes maybe that is a good thing. Interesting to see they didn't change the date with the IMWI 70.3 race on the next day, with a field size capacity double what they had for milkman last year.

I have also heard that the Madison race has really struggled to attract the number of athletes they targeted for.

There is a sprint & olympic distance in Lake Zurich in June. The Niles YMCA has a modified sprint (450yd/400m pool swim) in May the past year was 41 degrees and very cold on the bike.

Lake Mills is a good race first weekend of June if you want to trek north (1/2 way between Madison and Milwauke). Anything the Wisconsin tri series guys puts on will be a solid event with a reasonable entry fee. Otherwise x2 on the Elkhart Lake recommendation.
