I'm doing Escape from Alcatraz for the first time this year. Please share any recommendations on tri bike rental options close to the Fisherman's Wharf location. Thank you!

A friend rented a road bike from here and overall had a good experience. Maybe they can help:

I'll second the recommendation for renting a road bike from Sports Basement. That's where you pick up your packet anyways and of any tri I have done, a road bike hurts you the least at Escape. A descent amount of up, much of the down is technical. And if you are a fair to good swimmer, there is a lot of traffic on the course. If you are a great swimmer, a tri bike may give you more of an advantage.
There are some great ST threads on advice for this race if you search them out.

Thanks for the input guys. I've signed up on spinlister and reached out to a guy near fisherman's wharf to try to secure his tri bike for the weekend. I also called Sports Basement and they said they do not take advanced reserve rentals for that weekend. He literally said "call us 72 hours before the race." Seems risky!
