1

Choose your new Ventum bike
Choose a Ventum bike from our online store, or build your own custom Ventum One.

STEP
2

Get 110% of the value of your old bike
Use the form below to contact us. A Ventum representative will reach out to collect all of the information we need about your current bike. Then our partners at The Pro's Closet, the leaders in the triathlon bicycle resale market, will evaluate your bike and determine its value. Next, we will issue you a voucher for the value of your bike — plus an extra 10% — which can be used towards the purchase of a new Ventum bike. The whole process takes about a day, and you can do it all at home from your computer or phone.
STEP
3

Trade Up to a Ventum
Your Ventum representative will coordinate with you to finalize your order. We'll make arrangements for you to receive your new Ventum bike and ship your old bike to The Pro's Closet.

That's pretty cool - makes me wonder / hope other bike manufacturers might offer this.

This is actually a pretty good deal. Most "trade-in" programs only give credit that's LESS than the "rated" value of the bike according to BBB or the like.

Interesting.

I think that it is safe to say that the huge number of very low-miles advanced aero triathlon bikes available on the online and local used markets is clearly changing the bike business big time, and it is likely putting a very large dent in new bike sales.

How companies adapt to this new reality
going forward will be very interesting to watch ...

Hmmm, this is one of the very few bikes I'd consider giving up my Plasma 3 for.

I'm not a fan of Ventum, but this is a really good idea.

Sure wish other mfg's did this.

Velofix has the same program with Pro's Closet and you can use the credit (100%) towards purchase of any product Velofix carries. Including complete bike.

Bicycle Blue Book does this too. That's who my shop partners with. Remember that it's 110% of what they value the bike at. They all resell these bikes, so they have to make a profit too. You are probably looking at 30 less what u can privately sell for. Think of it as trading in your car. What is the hassle of doing it yourself worth. We have had a lot of Trade ins in the few months we have used the program.

Was going to have a quick look at this and then I hit their geometry charts which only show frame stack and reach and no info about the proprietary bars that the bike comes with. Or am I missing something?! Can't understand why they don't give pad x/y if it comes with their own bars.

Gave up and went to look at a Canyon.

Sorry to hear you got frustrated. We are building a full fit calculator into the website as we speak so it will be very easy to find your correct size on a Ventum.

Please email me at jimmy@ventumracing.com and I can answer any question you have.

Let's wait for the results. But I'm with you.

Things I still don't love about the Ventum:

-the aesthetics of the Dimond-like gap behind the stem
-the base bar (in any sense)
-the TRP brake requirement

I don't know what it is I just don't like that gap. That's the biggest thing for me.

But nothing enchants like free speed. Can't wait for the numbers.

Unfortunately the trade up program is only offered in North America. We are exploring option to offer this in other markets.

We can ship the Ventum anywhere in the world.

I'm also very excited for the testing!!!
There are some new additions coming to clean up the aesthetics of the bottle/stem gap. You are not stuck with the standard bar and can use any bar you choose.
The TRP is only front and you can choose any Direct mount rear brake. There are other brake options being tested currently and will be interesting to follow the UCI brake rules and regulations that may change soon.
