Zero and I still managed to complete 18 IMs including Hawaii 3x.

There's no correct answer for this. If you eat perfectly and have no deficiencies-you may not need to take anything from what I understand.

That said, I take a multivitamin, fish oil on days I'm not eating fish, a very low dosage of ZMA (zinc, magnesium, and B6), and CoQ10 coenzyme (as a consequence of prescribed statin use).

Very shortly you'll have the fine citizens of ST telling you that you're a doping becasue you take fish oil. Remember that fairness is the only thing that matters in triathlon and by taking a supplement of any kind you are cheating. Make sure to spend at least $12,000 on your bike though.

Beer, Wine, Coffee, Sleep...

No supps or vitamins for me. That industry blows my mind though. People spend a lot of money on them though...

I don't take any however, I try to eat 2 cups of spinach (flash steamed) which is about 4 cups fresh - everyday.

I think every one should be taking Fish oil a multi and a super B+ complex for starters. I take in addition V- D,C, Lysine for cold sores prevention (works!) CQ-10, Magnesium, Hammer race caps and endurance caps. I'm not a nutritionist not a pro but I fallow my health and try to eat the best I can, With summer around the corner those soft serve frozen yogurt stands call my name. A great podcast and website -http://www.bengreenfieldfitness.com/category/nutrition/ I am sure most people on here know who Ben greenfield is. for those who don't Ben is a Slowtwitch,lava regular contributor along with a top level athlete/ Health and body guru. Strongly strongly recommend his podcast and even a few of his books.

B12
Calcium with D3


And beer & wine just like The Rosshole.

1 - vegetables
2 - fruit
3 - nuts/seeds/chia/flax etc.
4 - water
5 - caffeine

Gives me everything I need and my pee is a lot less expensive.

That being said, I spend a lot of time travelling for work and tend to take a multi-vitamin and some greens+ with me for when I don't have access to the good stuff

and here ya go:

-Udo's Oil (omega 3,6,9 blend)
-D3
-B12
-Calcium/Magnesium pill
-Sunwarrior protein powder in smoothie

D3 because I live in tropical Chicago, B12 because I'm plant based and it's a tough vitamin to get on that regimen, Calc/Mag because everything I've read says get more and I dont do dairy, the protein powder just because I tend to eat lighter dinners and want to have some protein in my system while I sleep. Omega 3/6/9 self explanatory I guess.

My previous career chewed me up and spat me out, so I'm on the supplement train.

Vitamin C
Green Tea Extract
Glucosamine with Chondroitin (there's not a whole bunch of cartilage left in my body.)

Seriously though I'll make a smoothie with whey protein after hard efforts...other than that I eat pretty healthy...other than the PBR and 4-5 cups of black coffee a day
