That's terrible. I feel sorry for Terry Davis (RD) and Iv'e done that race in the past and it's so beautiful there. This "el nino" year has done almost nothing for the drought issues in So Cal and Central Cal.

Just FYI USAT is looking for an emergency alternative for the Aquathlon Nationals....it may be canceled at Tinley's but hopefully not for the year.

USAP Oaklands Aquathlon at the end of July would be perfect!!! Cheap easy airport access. A no surf swim. Pennib, you could work with Ryan to make this happen
if you wanted to!!

Unfortunately that event doesn't qualify. We talked this past weekend. It's a first time aquathlon and he's no longer a certified RD. You must be a certified RD and the event must have two solid years of sanction compliance including officials, etc. to be considered for any national or regional championship. Also, the committee needs to look back at events that complied with the application process earlier in the year as well to see if there are any races on that list that would work.

I really hope that an event is selected because as a sport we need to focus on and continue to grow aquathlon. It's such a great multisport entry event.

USAT can do anything they want. You could be the RD at the Oakland event. He has always had officials.

It just better not be an open water surf ocean swim!
