Thule RoundTrip Transition Hard Shell Bike Case
Quote | Reply
Hi Everybody,

I'm looking at doing a couple of fly-away trips next year and need a good bike case. I'm giving up on the "try to be stealthy and avoid oversize baggage fees" thing I tried last time with a soft-sided case with no wheels or handles. I'm looking for ultimate protection and ease of movement (i.e., it has wheels and handles), and have accepted the fact that the airlines are gonna charge me through the nose. So, with my expectations lowered, I have started digging around looking for the latest and greatest in bike travel cases. Does anybody have experience with the Thule RoundTrip Transition?

I would be transporting either my tri bike (with disc wheel), or possibly my full-suspension mountain bike, so I would like that kind of flexibility. Is it really $200+ better than the RoundTrip Sport? If not flying with it, could it be shipped UPS?

Any other suggestions or alternatives? How about the Pro case from Performance Bike?
