I know it has been discussed on this thread before. Is there an update on storage boxes available for the area above the BB on the P5? Where the infamous P4 water bottle sits. I heard rumours of Torhans working on something....I'm basically hoping to find a slick storage box which I can put tools, CO2, extra tube, etc.

Hey Seth,
We don't have an update :/
Maybe someone from Cervelo or Hans can provide one.

I had no issues when I had my bike packed in an EVOC by the LBS in Vancouver. The fork was dropped, and the front brake removed. Things went smoothly reassembling it, took about an hour, at a relaxed pace. Now hopefully I don't screw it up when I take the bike to IM Italy 70.3 :).

Following up on Dr. B's question....
What would be the best option in the downtube bottle holder right now for a "make shift" toolkit until someone comes up with a brilliant design - although I think I've read that the issue is that the spacing is different depending on the size of the P5 frame - unlike the standard size with the P4 water bottle area.
I am trying to decide if it is best to use a standard round water bottle there - or an aero one - will be designated as a toolkit only - so will always be attached to the frame...
Aero guru's...what do you think....

In terms of aerodynamics go with an aero bottle. You can easily mod those to fit your storage in there too.

My frame arrived to Copenhagen on March 19th, exactly 14 months after ordering. Picked up the frame a couple a days later and then finally picked up the assembled bike at the shop yesterday.
First ride today, seemed fine but impossible to really judge while still in big winter clothes here - weather should be a bit warmer from next week. Still fiddling and tuning several small things.
One thing to note for anyone else planning to use the USE Tula with Flight Pods and the Magura calipers. The screws in Flight Pods prevents the Magura Calipers to enter them completely so you have ~5mm of the calipers that should be inside the bar but is not. The calipers seem mounted firmly enough, but you definitely want bar tape or something else on there to cover it up or it will look pretty bad.
(It's my training wheels in the picture, for anyone keeping score. Will probably take a better picture with race wheels, in the big chain ring, and with pedals installed once I get around to it)

The least you could have done is taken a picture of the drive train. Gawd.

I'll save that for the picture with race wheels :p

no, then we would see just how long that chain really is. from this view it just looks badish, from the other side we might gasp. :)

Yeah, I thought they might have cut a link more out. I'm pretty sure it's in 42-11 in that picture, though, and I'm of course always on the 55T chain ring when riding anyway ;)

I have emailed TriAll3 and we'll see what they say.
I was also thinking about using their road bike case where you just leave the handlebars on and turn them 90 degrees in the case. The problem of course is the aero-bar extensions, but with the locking collar assembly, they *should* be easy to remove and fold down. The problem is of course that there might not be enough play in the shifter cables to pull the extensions out and fold them down once the collars are loosened. I guess it depends on how far in the bars go, and how much extra cable my LBS left floating around in there. To be determined - I'll try it and see.
...and you can just hear me talking myself into DI2 so that I can justify using this travel case and the ease of removing the extensions with only a small wire to deal with :-)

Was having a hard time looking down at my Garmin above the stem.
Made a steel bracket to reverse my old set-up.
Now the Garmin is in front of bottle where I can view it anytime without head movement.

Campled, that is a great idea.
Might want to consider a simple rubber support to prevent fatigue in your steel piece.
Love to see such cool, creative fabrication!

How about a bottle on the top tube instead of a bento box (assuming knee/thigh clearance)? Too crazy?
Re: The official Cervelo P5 thread [DukeofTexas]
[ In reply to ]
Nothing is too crazy :) but you would have to have the bottle be the same width and height as the stem for optimum aerodynamics.

I happened to mount my garmin there. For now the down tube will have to do until I figure out a better way.

Thanks. That'll look so much better. Pity I can't swap them over
You can move the Garmin mount farther forward onto the taped portion of the bars. My computer is mounted on the upward angled portion of the ski bend extensions. Much easier to see as it's angled towards me now.
