That just does not look right! How does that work with brakes???

hmmm... looks cool. i, too, am curious how it works w/the brake pads on the rim.
i'll put this in the category of "things that i'm curious about but will let other riders figure out what the issues are and maybe i'll get the 2nd generation version."

there's gotta be something that develops... if it's fixable, the product should work.

Is this thing still around? Looking at their site all of the dates are a long time ago. The mag reviews are from the turn of the century (I've always wanted to say that) and the first Q on the FAQ page is I am interested in a rear suspension hub.
It is coming in summer 2002. I haven't seen anything that indicates they're still around, other than the site being up and working, barely. Its an interesting concept though.

Wouldn't that potentially be wasting energy?

Yes it would waste energy for sure. Looking at where the suspension comes from you can see why there wil never be an F1 race car with cushy suspension but...

There comes a point where some suspension even if it wastes energy, is good. It is a matter of saving the engine damage from bumps. Think of the off-road racing cars (subaru imprezza)

In training this product might be just the thing.

I would think it would waste less energy. For the same reason that lower inflation pressures and beam bikes lower rolling resistance, this should also do that. Every time your bike gets lifted, you lose energy, that you don't recover when it bumps back down.

I DO have concern about the brakes.
TitanFlex used to offer those on their bikes, but I didn't see it last time I looked. Admittedly, I wasn't looking too hard.
