Walked away for a minute, and came back in to hear something like: "she may get disqualified for that". Anybody hear what that was about?

Sandra Wallenhorst (sp?) might have missed part of the bike course.

What happened to Potts?

"Sandra Wallenhorst has been disqualified for missing part of the course, we've just learned from the official race timer here at the Ford Ironman World Championship. We can only hope that officials will be able to get that message to her before she gets back to T2."

Busted: "Serving penalties: Pete Jacobs, Ben Hoffman and Faris Al-Sultan were all in the penalty tent, which will put them out of the main chase pack."

Rasmus Henning riding with his swim skin...any idea what the aero benefit is? Does this allow the air to bead off of the suit?

It looked like there were many marshalls having chats with some of the guys. That is good to see, as it looks spread out now. I think some of those guys just get frustrated with guys passing them, then slowing sown the pace. So guys like Faris probably fight for position too long and get popped. Pete Jacobs too, he was very agressive and probably took too much time to pass that long line. You really need to stay focused and chill until it is time to make a big move. All those guys were riding agressive that got penalties...

I might have to bust out my "Stormin Normann" shirt...Norman has a big smile on his face as he rides through the group according to announcers.

I just heard Tyler Butterfield of Bermuda mentioned among the bike leaders. He's my darkhorse pick for today and if he stays close into T2, watch out!! Tyler is in peak form and a stellar runner - ran sub 1:08 in Texas 70.3 (ok, may have been a little short but he outran Potts by 2+ mins and Bozzone by 3+ mins).

Tyler has the pedigree as a former professional cyclist and triathlon is in his genes: his father Jim Butterfield finished IMH in 7th overall and also held the IMH run record for several years. His mother was something like a 9-time winner of Bermuda's biggest, most prominent half marathon race: the Marathon Derby.

Go Ty!!!

Hopefully he holds up on the run to put some pressure on the other guys.

Looks like Bouchard just took the $5k prime, and Leito is sitting just behind in 2nd. They did say Norman is powering up the field, with Rasmus in tow. With all those guys sitting out penalties, could be another strong chase pack forming..

This coverage today is pretty good overall, and unlike last year we have not been subjected to a bunch of views of the commentators. It seems like we actually have a producer this year keeping the storyline active, not a bunch of random shots. As long as the site stays up all day, you have to give kudos.

The New Specialized Wind Tunnel
Will this be a game changer for Specialized, in both sales and product design, or will it not move the sales and design needle versus those in Specialized's competitive set?
