Give the guy a break....he has a sacral stress fracture. These take a long time to heal. I'm sure he doesn't want to rise breaking his sacrum during IMFL. Its not worth it.

After listening to his TRS podcast, I was surprised he hadn't already mentioned ending the season. I think it was probably ill advised to race 70.3 worlds or Kona given his injury. I give him credit for sucking it up and trying however.

Where do they get their expected finish times from? A pro expected 11:14 with a 5:31 bike?

Based off formulas from past results, conditions, time of year, etc. It is just a bunch of math with very little human input.

I'm pretty sure that Lionel would had prefer having Starky racing then sidelines. You want to race the best at their best. More then often this generates awesome performances from both of them.

It's difficult too push yourself beyond boundaries alone. We could have see two guys if conditions were favorable going close to 4h on the bike.

Guess we will have to wait until Kona too see them battling against each one.

Even if I'm a fan of Lionel, I prefer to see a good fight rattle than this.

I believe he implied this in the interview with TRS. Maybe I missed it but it sounded like he was done for the year.
