Something Different for the off-season?

In case any of you want to consider mixing it up a bit--here's a slideshow from my son and my expedition to and summit of the Vinson Massif--the highest mountain in Antarctica....

Thanks!

We went from LA to Panama to Santiago, Chile to Punta Arenas, Chile to Union Glacier and then finally on to the Vinson Base Camp. In total it involved 6 separate flights with 6 separate planes....I have more tolerance for 1-stop vs non-stop flights these days!

Whoa that's some patience! I bet the weather is better getting there from Chile vs NZ though. Have you done any of the other 7 Summits?

PS - kick ass video - thanks for sharing!

I have also climbed Aconcagua (South America) and Kozi (Australia) and am climbing Elbrus and Kilimanjaro next year. My son has climbed Kili, Vinson, Aconcagua and Denali and will be climbing with me on Elbrus next summer.

Glad you liked the little vid!

Rock on. I've done the little ones - Kili and Kozi (2x - one time during Epic Camp and once with my wife). In addition my wife has done Aconcagua, Kili and Kozi. Any motivation for Everest?

I saw there movie! No, a man has gotta know his limitations. My principal drive is climbing with my eldest. We've done many other mountains together. I decided a while ago to not climb Denali nor Everest....one of the benefits of that call is that I'm still married!

You're a man who knows his priorities. That's to be commended.
